Born and raised in the North Jersey area, John Zuidema moved down to the Philadelphia area to attend Temple University. Growing up, soccer was a cornerstone of his life, and in college, he began to blog his thoughts on professional matches. After enrolling at Temple, this passion project resulted in time spent with the Philadelphia Union Academy and scouting work for a European Champion's League club.  More recently, John has begun to focus more on coaching and has joined HVAA, working with a number of teams, while also entering his third year working as a volunteer for the Temple Men's Soccer team. He currently is the head coach of the HVAA Heat 2015 team and is the assistant of the HVAA Swarm 2012 Boys, 2014 Rage, 2015 Fury, and HVAA Futures boys teams. Additionally, he holds an APFA Opposition Analysis certificate and TOVO v1 coaching license and is currently working towards his USSF D coaching license.
