Jack Sorkin

Jack Sorkin grew up in Huntingdon Valley. Throughout his childhood, Jack was a multi-sport athlete. He competed in basketball, soccer, and baseball, including the HVAA Travel Soccer and Travel Baseball teams. He was a standout defender for the HVAA 2000 Sting boys team, earning ICSL, Rock League, and YSC titles throughout his tenure. Jack also played two years of soccer in the Maccabi games, earning silver and gold medals.

In high school, Jack was an inspiring leader among his fellow classmates. He was the student council's class president and LMHS Penn State THON captain for four years. While at Lower Moreland High School, Jack earned two varsity letters for the LMHS Baseball team. His passion for sports and work ethic made him a respected leader on and off the field. While Jack continued to compete with his HVAA Sting 2000 boys team during high school, he was awarded the prestigious Peter Kennedy Scholarship from the Inter-County Soccer League. In 2018, his senior year, HVAA presented him with the Steven Silverman Leadership Award.

In college, Jack pursued a Secondary Education with minors in Economics, American History, and Political Science at Penn State University's main campus. While there, he also served two years as chancellor of Beta Sigma Beta and continued his involvement in soccer as a standout US Soccer official. He has maintained his soccer certification since 2014 and referees high-level games throughout the Delaware Valley. He was also named the "Young Referee of the Year" for the 2018 Southeastern Pennsylvania Hall of Fame. Jack currently teaches at Lower Moreland High School, where he coaches both the boys' high school baseball team and the boys' high school soccer team. Jack is currently the coach of the HVAA Future girls' travel soccer team.
