Damian Schweizer
When Damian Schweizer returned to HVAA a few years ago, he came back not as an HVAA player, but as a coach, mentor, and rising leader. He grew up competing in Northeast Philadelphia’s competitive soccer scene before finding his home at HVAA in 2016, where he played for the HVAA ’97 team. At the same time, he was a driving force on the field at Franklin Towne Charter, earning First Team All-Public honors in both his junior and senior high school seasons. He continued representing HVAA on the U23 Men’s team while playing at Manor College and Shenandoah University. Currently, Damian is competing in MASL3 with the Philadelphia Spartans, where he continues to fuel his passion for the game.
Carrying a proud family tradition, Damian leads the 2011 Hornets and 2007 Hurricanes boys teams and serves as an assistant coach alongside his father, Scott Schweizer, for the 2008 Sting, 2010 Storm, and 2014 Rage boys teams. He also brings his knowledge and energy to the high school level, coaching Roman Catholic’s freshman boys’ soccer team. In 2025, Damian was named HVAA’s Boys Director. With heart, relentless energy, grit, and a clear vision, he’s building something special for our HVAA athletes. Anyone who knows Damian knows he has a special way of bringing out the best in his players. HVAA is confident that under his leadership, the HVAA’s boys program will move toward a bold and inspiring future.
